Tusker House Dining Review

Tusker House Dining Review

OVERALL GRADE: 7.5/10

Tusker House Restaurant, found in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park, is based off an African marketplace eatery. Here you will get the chance to meet some of the classic Disney characters including Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy. It is a buffet-style restaurant and the food is definitely unique. This restaurant does participate in the Disney Dining Program and is 1 Table-service credit. Tusker House does offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and we went for the dinner service. Here’s the thing, if your not the type of person up for new and unique things, this is not the place for you! The food here is not the standard American buffet, with options such as peri-peri baked salmon, curry chicken, spit-roasted chicken, and roasted pork.

For sides they offer roasted red potatoes, mashed potatoes, curried-rice, and a variety of vegetables. Desserts include Passion Fruit Spice Cake, Flourless Chocolate Cake, Passion Fruit Tart, a 7- Layer Bar, Peanut Butter Mousse Bar, Chocolate Chunk Cookie, Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, Chocolate Turtle Brownies, and Mango-Cardamom Fruit Tarts.

The children have options as well including deli meats and cheeses, mac & cheese, and corn dog nuggets.

In addition to the lunch and dinner offerings, Tusker House also offers breakfast. During this period it’s known as Donald’s Safari Breakfast. Options include Spit-Roasted Bone-in Ham, Spiced Corn Beef Hash with Cornbread Topping, Scrambled Eggs, Mickey Waffles, Potato and Leek Frittata, Hame and Cheese Frittata, and Beef Bobotie. In addition to that Tater Tots, Bacon, Sausage Patties, Froot Loops, Rice Crispies, Oatmeal, Biscuits, Assorted Yogurts, and Assorted Fruits.

This character dining experience definitely does not disappoint. The food is unique but has enough options for the picky eater. Characters visit each table and spend a nice amount of time with guest, interacting with adults and children alike. If you are looking for a character dining experience in the park, Tusker House is a must try.

As for pricing, this will run you anywhere from:

Adults: ($34.99-$59.99)

Children (3-9): ($24.99-$34.99)

For the price, food, and character experience, this is definitely a place to try on your next visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
