UPDATE 8/3/20: A Walt Disney World Spokesperson released a statement on the incident.
The incident happened toward the end of the ride and involved five visitors. All five visitors were able to get out of the ride vehicle safely.”

Yesterday evening, August 2, 2020, Splash Mountain ride goers were evacuated due to their boat sinking.
Twitter user @skyelaringrsoll was in the ride vehicle and caught the event later tweeting out the video seen below.
so we got out of our boat because it was sinking while we were stuck there and the disney world employee decided to tell us that we should’ve stayed in the boat but it went under as soon as we all stepped out… nice #DisneyWorld #splashmountain #MagicKingdom #disney not okay???? pic.twitter.com/15zMnP1wgX

According to the tweet, a Disney Cast Member told her that she should’ve stayed in the boat, but as soon as they stepped foot out of the boat, it completely submerged under water.
