UPDATE: BOMA CONFIRMED TO REOPEN AUGUST 20TH WITH BUFFET STYLE DINING
We have a fresh rumor today confirming that Disney is looking into bringing buffets back to the resort.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is set to reopen to all guests very soon on August 26th, and Boma – Flavors of Africa, one of the resort’s restaurants, will be the first restaurant to bring back buffet service. While other Walt Disney World buffet restaurants have switched to family-style service, Boma will reopen with its buffet operational.
We’re also hearing rumblings that resort buffet options are also on the table beginning with Crystal Palace! Boma will be a gauge however to see how things work operationally before moving forward to reintroduce more buffet style experiences.
Of course, buffet dining was discontinued temporarily as part of the health and safety measures implemented when the parks reopened last July due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But, Disneyland Resort has already returned to buffet self-service, and Walt Disney World seems to be on its way as well!
This is a developing story so stay tuned for more information as it comes in! It’s worth noting, this has not been confirmed as of yet by Disney, so while we think these sources are indeed accurate, take it with a grain of salt.
