Planet Hollywood Dining Review

Planet Hollywood Dining Review

Overall Grade: 7/10

Planet Hollywood is one of those places our family visits every time we go to Disney World. That may come as a surprise for many that this restaurant is one of our favorites but trust us, if you get the right things, this place really shines every single time!

First things first, the atmosphere! This place is huge! As you can see from the picture above, the inside is enormous and has 3 floors worth of table seating and outside seating. This means that it’s a very good possibility that you can arrive here and get a table fairly quickly. This, however, does change with the seasons, like the holidays when it really picks up in crowds. While in the restaurant they have many different items from popular movies throughout the place and constantly have music being played. It also has huge screens that show videos from movies and music videos.

Now of course the food is the real star of this place! As far as our favorites, there are two items that we get EVERY SINGLE TIME we come here. The first thing is L.A. Lasagna and the second is the BBQ Ribs. The L.A. Lasagna is my favorite thing here at Planet Hollywood. It is fresh pasta tubes filled with ricotta and Bolognese meat sauce, fried golden brown, and served with roasted garlic cream and tomato basil sauces. When I tell you this is ABSOLUTELY amazing, it’s an understatement. The filling in the inside of the shells is just enough and all of it is fried to perfection in the pasta shells.

Now there is one more thing we get when we go, and it’s the BBQ Ribs. Often times we just get both and split the two so we can get a taste of both. These ribs though are not to be overlooked as an after thought. If you are a rib lover, then these are the ribs for you my friend. They have just the right amount of seasoning and a delicious BBQ sauce ties it all together. These ribs are served with a side of fries which are actually 3 different fries in one including waffle, regular, and curly fries all seasoned in a BBQ seasoning.

In addition to these two amazing dishes they also offer a wide variety of burger selections all created by Guy Fieri from the TV show Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. The burgers are good overall. While some in our group disliked some of the burgers, others liked it. The Bacon Mac-N-Cheese burger for example was kind of a mess but the flavor was kind of lacking a cheese flavor ironically. Other than that the burger itself was good overall. Here’s the the full burger menu they offer:

PLAIN JANE CHEESEBURGER – $17.99

Guy’s smash-grilled burger served with your choice of cheddar, Swiss or SMC, LTOP and donkey sauce on the side so you can build it your way. Served with triple fries

PRIME TIME AMERICAN KOBE – $19.99

American-style kobe beef, smoked gouda, cheddar, caramelized onion jam, LTOP and donkey sauce on a brioche bun served with triple fries

MORGAN’S VEGGIE – $15.99

Scratch-made vegetable burger of black beans, white beans, chickpeas, oats, artichokes, roasted red pepper and garlic with cilantro aïoli and LTOP on a toasted wheat bun served with triple fries

BACON MAC-N-CHEESE – $19.99

Guy’s award-winning burger – Winner of NYC Wine and Food Festival Burger Bash! Applewood-smoked bacon, six cheese mac-n-cheese cheddar, LTOP, crispy onion straws and donkey sauce on a brioche bun served with triple fries

THE ORIGINAL RINGER – $18.99

Crispy rojo onion ring, Guy’s signature BBQ sauce, SMC, cheddar, LTOP, and donkey sauce on a brioche bun served with triple fries

As far as prices go, the L.A. Lasagna is $21.99 + tax, the BBQ Ribs are $29.99 + tax and the burgers range from $15.99-$19.99. Now that seems a bit high but trust us when we say you can definitely feed 4 people off of the lasagna and the ribs and be extremely satisfied or maybe even be full like we are when we’re done eating. This breaks down to about $12.99 + tax per person when split 4 ways. Granted if you want a soft drink or an alcoholic beverage that will increase your bill. Also this restaurant does except the Disney Dining Plan and costs one table service credit. If you happen to have the dining plan you get a choice of a drink (an alcoholic drink if you wish if your 21 or older), an entree, and a dessert.

Overall we think this a great place to try if you haven’t already. The friendly staff, the atmosphere, and of course the food all make for a great experience. We give this a 7/10 because we feel in our opinion that for the price, this place offers a good selection of menu items and just an up-beat atmosphere, a perfect way to kickstart your vacation.
