Value

We know that the low score is somewhat of a shocker. This relatively new restaurant in Disney Springs was one that we had very high expectations for considering it is Iron Chef Morimoto’s restaurant. Now when it comes to the overall value of Morimoto Asia, we this is a factor that drives down the score. The atmosphere is pretty cool and elegant, but beyond that, only one menu item in the group was exceptional and the rest were not good at all. With the price tag that comes with the food, we give the overall value of Morimoto Asia a 3/10.

Food

Now when looking at the food that was going to be served we couldn’t be more excited. It both looked and sounded amazing. But when we got to the restaurant and sat down, out of 10 people only one person got something amazing. I am not a fan that much of fish but let me tell you this was absolutely amazing. The sweet and sour crispy bronzino, which is a Mediterranean sea bass, with a signature sweet and sour sauce. The fish is served whole and is completely deboned. It is a great looking dish with taste to match. The fish had a crispy skin, and a tender, flavorful meat. The bronzino is easily one of the best fish dishes in Walt Disney World, if not the best. It is this dish that brings our score up higher than what it would be.

Now onto the things that weren’t so good. Being the restaurant that it is, we had to get some sushi. Our table ordered 7 of the 8 rolls that they offer. The rolls that they offer are: Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salmon, Eel & Avocado, Vegetable, Spicy Yellow Tail, California, Shrimp Tempura and Spider. We didn’t get the vegetable roll. All of these rolls range from $12.00 – $14.00 which isn’t too expensive but it is when the rolls weren’t too good. Every roll that we tried was pretty dry and honestly had little to no flavor at all. To say the least, it wasn’t what we were expecting at all. The only sense of flavor came from the Spicy Mayo, Soy Sauce or Eel Sauce that we asked for to have with it. IF we had to pick a favorite roll, the Spider Roll and the Spicy Salmon roll are the best options.

As for the Orange Chicken that we got, it was just ok. The dish comes with tempura chicken, Chinese broccoli, wok-tossed with a sweet Florida orange sauce and choice of white or brown rice. It was nothing to write home about, which was kind of surprising for us. For the $28.00 + tax price tag that came with it, it was not worth it for another try.

For the dessert people at our table got the Chocolate Cream & Crunch which is an Oreo tempura, mandarin orange jelly, dark chocolate gelato, hazelnut chocolate crunchies. It was pretty good, not enough to make me finish the whole thing, but overall a pretty good dessert.

With all of the food we got and the price we paid, we give the food a 4/10

Service

Just like many other restaurants in Disney World, the service was good. There were a few times, however, when we didn’t see our waiter for an extended amount of time. This really never made sense due to the fact that we got there for opening so there weren’t many people at all in the restaurant. For this we rate the service 7/10.

Atmosphere

Lastly is the atmosphere. We really enjoyed how nice it was. In fact, before the meal walking in, the atmosphere made us say, wow, this is going to be a great meal. It is a very nice place and has really cool chandeliers all over. It also has a second level and an inside look into the kitchen. Without a doubt this is the contributing factor that helps the overall score. We give the atmosphere an 8.5/10.

Overall Experience

Overall, we will most likely not be going back. It was a disappointment and it was not what we were expecting. With all of the amazing restaurants in Disney, there are too many options to pick from than to go here. It may seem a bit harsh, but it is what it is with this place unfortunately.
