As the world moves closer and closer to truly digital and wireless lives Disney wants to stay ahead of the curve. That’s why starting Jan. 1, 2021, guests staying on property will no longer be getting complimentary MagicBands.
Instead, Disney is pushing for guests to use their My Disney Experience App that will be improved to be able to take on the responsibilities of a MagicBand.
Guest staying on property of course have the option of buying a MagicBand at a discounted price. Also Disney will be releasing even more colors and designs to the existing line up.
Guest deciding not to purchase a MagicBand will be able to use their My Disney Experience app for things such as a digital key to open up your hotel room and a key to the world card during your visit.
