Hurricane Dorian is still a threat to central Florida as it still is in the cone of uncertainty as seen above. Because of this, Walt Disney World has been preparing the last couple of days. Of course Walt Disney World is closely monitoring the path of the projected weather before announcing any possible closures.
As always Disney’s number one concern is their guests and cast members!
They are preparing for Hurricane Dorian by canceling weekend sporting events and closing Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park on Sunday. In addition to that, umbrellas are being taken down, banners removed and some construction scrims on fences have been taken down. As far as the Disney Skyliner, all gondolas are at Caribbean Beach and the haul rope has been secured with grips every couple of towers to prevent the rope from shifting.

They are also prepared to contact guests as necessary with current and upcoming reservations at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and the Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to plan for anticipated weather impacts.
If a hurricane warning is issued by the National Hurricane Center for the Orlando area (or your place of residence) within seven days of your visit, Disney World will allow visitors to cancel or reschedule vacations booked directly with Disney without cancellation or change fees.
If you’ve made vacation plans through a third-party or travel agent, you will need to contact them for information about their cancellation or change policies.
