Captain Marvel Movie Review

Captain Marvel Movie Review

Mouse-ka-Score: 85%

I know we are late to the game, but we finally were able to go see Captain Marvel before Avengers: Endgame comes out Friday, April 26, 2019. As anticipated it was a very good movie. Everything that a Marvel movie is, it was, and it delivered it all in a very well put together story and plot to keep both diehard fans and newcomers happy.

Set in the 1990s, the story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.

Now in case you didn’t realize, this is the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a female superhero at its center and with a female co-director and writer. It currently carries an 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is in line with previous entries in the franchise. The film lands right between “Thor” (77%) and “Black Panther” (97%). This isn’t the greatest Marvel movie ever made, but it’s definitely one of the funniest and sweetest.

The movie stars Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, yes that Nick Fury, obviously before his start, and many others creating a great cast for the movie.
This movie was yet another film that crossed over the $1 Billion at the box office for Marvel. With Avengers: Endgame coming up, this movie ties in and is the last piece fans should watch before seeing Endgame April 26.
