Late last week the CDC announced updated guidance stating those who have been vaccinated do not need to wear masks or physically distance. After the announcement, Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando both announced that guests now have an option of not wearing masks outside in addition to the reduction of physical distancing.
California has now announced that it will align with the CDC’s new guidelines beginning June 15, meaning mask rules may change at that time for Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood. Neither has yet to make an announcement regarding the change, though.
Previously, however, Disneyland Resort released the following statement on how masks will still be required in all areas of the theme park.
“Disneyland Resort’s current guidelines, which require all guests (ages 2 and older) and Cast Members to wear face coverings, remain in effect until further notice. Policies will be evaluated in accordance with state and local recommendations as soon as guidance is released.”
