Disney has revealed new details on new movies and shows coming soon across all of their brands from Star Wars to Marvel! Let’s dig into what they revealed for Walt Disney Studios!

Avatar: Fire and Ash – In theaters December 19, 2025

Starting off, this isn’t technically part of Walt Disney Studios, but it fits in this post the best.

James Cameron took the stage at D23 to offer a glimpse into the future of the *Avatar* film series. The renowned director revealed that the upcoming films will explore “really challenging territory” for beloved characters. Attendees were treated to exclusive concept art and the title of the third installment, *Avatar: Fire and Ash*. The intriguing visuals and title hint at new and dramatic developments in the expansive world of Pandora. You can view the concept art for the film below:

Snow White – In theaters Summer 2025

Disney invites you to return to the story that started it all 🍎

Disney’s Snow White” is a live-action musical reimagining of the classic 1937 film. The magical music adventure journeys back to the timeless story with beloved characters Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy. “Disney’s Snow White” is directed by Marc Webb and produced by Marc Platt and Jared LeBoff, with Callum McDougall serving as executive producer, and features all-new original songs from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

Before the trailer for Snow White premieres online and in-person at D23 2024, an exclusive clip was shown to the audience. The clip begins with Rachel Zegler as Snow White, she addresses each dwarf one by one, and passes one of them a broom. After this, Snow White begins to sing the “Whistle while you work” song from the original film, only it is a more modern rendition of the song, and done at a faster tempo. The dwarves help to clean, and woodland animals, such as a woodpecker, also enter the cottage to help Snow White finish cleaning before they all sit together at a dining table.

Tron Ares – In theaters October 10, 2025

At D23, attendees got an exclusive preview of the highly anticipated film Tron: Ares. Jared Leto made a personal appearance to discuss his role as Ares, an ominous artificial intelligence. He described Ares as a malevolent force, adding a dark edge to the film. The new footage revealed an exciting twist: characters will venture beyond the digital realm and into the real world. To heighten the film’s intensity, it was also announced that Nine Inch Nails will be crafting the soundtrack, promising a gripping auditory experience.

The footage kicks off with Evan Peters discussing the concept of Artificial Intelligence making a dramatic leap into the physical world. As the trailer unfolds, it transitions to snowy landscapes before introducing Jared Leto’s character, Ares, who reflects on his quest for purpose while navigating the real world. The scene then shifts to thrilling sequences of light cycles racing through a cityscape. The trailer concludes with Ares hurling a disc and a tantalizing glimpse of Jeff Bridges’ character on a vibrant purple grid, delivering a cryptic greeting: “Greetings, bookworm.”

Mufasa: The Lion King – In theaters December 20, 2024

Experience the epic story of how an orphan became a King.

Exploring the unlikely rise of the beloved king of the Pride Lands, “Mufasa: The Lion King” enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny—their bonds will be tested as they work together to evade a threatening and deadly foe.

New and returning cast members were called on to lend their voices to the film:

– Aaron Pierre as Mufasa – Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Taka, a lion prince with a bright future who accepts Mufasa into his family as a brother – Tiffany Boone as Sarabi – Kagiso Lediga as Young Rafiki – Preston Nyman as Zazu – Mads Mikkelsen as Kiros, a formidable lion with big plans for his pride – Thandiwe Newton as Taka’s mother, Eshe – Lennie James as Taka’s father, Obasi – Anika Noni Rose as Mufasa’s mother, Afia – Keith David as Mufasa’s father, Masego – John Kani as Rafiki – Seth Rogen as Pumbaa – Billy Eichner as Timon – Donald Glover as Simba – Introducing Blue Ivy Carter as Kiara, daughter of King Simba and Queen Nala – And Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala.

Monster Jam – Unknown Release Date

Dwayne Johnson took the stage to share exciting updates about Moana 2 but also unveiled details about an upcoming live-action film titled Monster Jam. While specifics about the project are still under wraps, it has been confirmed that the film will delve into the world of monster trucks and the culture surrounding these iconic vehicles.
