Well after what seems like forever from when the original release date for Black Widow was, we finally get to see it on the big screen, or on Disney+ with Premier Access for $29.99.
First thing here is that if you can go see it in a theater setting, and are comfortable with going to a theater, then by all means, go to the movies to watch this movie! Just like any other Marvel movie, there is just something about the theater experience. Of course, that being said, Disney+ with Premier Access is there for a reason, and you should absolutely utilize this option if you wish! Just watch the movie someway somehow is basically what we’re saying! Ok, now on to the NO SPOILERS REVIEW!
Let’s just start off by saying that “Black Widow” beat our expectations overall! Let’s go over what we loved and the just ok moments.
What We Loved…
The first half to two thirds of the movie was very raw and deep. The emotions and acting that Florence Pugh and Scarlett Johansson give are just a dynamic performance as Yelena Belova and Natasha Romanoff. Supporting actors David Harbour (Red Guardian/Alexei Shostakov) and Rachel Weisz (Melina Vostokoff) brought their all to the story as well. The film also features O-T Fagbenle (Rick Mason), Ray Winstone (unspecified), and William Hurt (General Ross).
Florence Pugh again was just amazing and gave such an incredible performance. Maybe the Tony Stark of this movie, which btw, Tony Stark does not show up in this movie, we don’t want your hopes to be up and end up being disappointed when he doesn’t show up.
Taskmaster, WOW! The action sequences with Taskmaster was just insane! It was crazy good! The physical performance is just unmatched! Black Widow also has good action sequences, however, not as much as Taskmaster!
The end credits, which yes, this movie has one, SO DON’T LEAVE is very well done and goes along with the movie and ends the movie very well.
Just OK Moments…
While Taskmaster was an awesome presence in “Black Widow” the presence of TaskMaster was not very prevalent as expected! Having such a awesome villain, you would think that there would’ve been more scenes with a villain like that in our opinion.
In addition, there was not as many action sequences as first originally thought. The movie seemed a little rushed and the CGI was not the best it could be.
Also, the movie is not really interconnected with the MCU which is not a bad thing at all, but just be sure you know that the movie takes place between Civil War and Infinity War.
These are not make or break points, but, you know…it could’ve been better on these particular points.
Now with all that being said, this is a movie that I will definitely be watching again and believe many other people will as well. In fact, I look forward to watching it again! It was overall a fantastic movie! So what’s the Mouse-ka-Score…? Well we rate “Black Widow”
