Splash Mountain Boat Sinks Forcing Evacuations

UPDATE 8/3/20: A Walt Disney World Spokesperson released a statement on the incident.

The incident happened toward the end of the ride and involved five visitors. All five visitors were able to get out of the ride vehicle safely.”

Yesterday evening, August 2, 2020, Splash Mountain ride goers were evacuated due to their boat sinking.



Twitter user @skyelaringrsoll was in the ride vehicle and caught the event later tweeting out the video seen below.



According to the tweet, a Disney Cast Member told her that she should’ve stayed in the boat, but as soon as they stepped foot out of the boat, it completely submerged under water.



What caused this boat to sink and when this exactly happened is still unknown. The tweet was sent out around 1:00 A.M. E.S.T. Be sure to check this post for any possible updates we have to this story.
