New changes are coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios starting this Summer ahead of the highly anticipated Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens. It is still unknown if these changes will be permanent or just temporary for Galaxies Edge.
Some big news have been revealed about the new changes coming to the FastPass tiers at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Beginning August 29th rides at Hollywood Studios will become tier 1 FastPass, and the shows will become a tier 2. This means that all rides like Slinky Dog Dash, Tower of Terror, Rockin’ Roller Coaster, and Alien Swirling Saucers will be under the same Tier 1 and guests will only be able to choose one.
As for the new Star Wars rides, those are not going to be even offered up for FastPasses when they open, but we suspect they’ll be tier 1 rides when they do get offered. It is possible that this is only to spread out guests at the park for when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge first opens and they will some rides back to tier 2 eventually when the hype goes down, pretty much like Disney Worlds version of Disneyland’s reservation system.
Star Tours and Fantasmic are not showing up on either tier at this time.
