On New Year’s Eve a Tampa Bay man was arrested around 8 pm for attempting to bring a loaded 9mm handgun into Disney Springs at Walt Disney World according to an arrest report. He was stopped by Orange Country Sheriff’s Officers in the Disney Springs Orange Parking Garage.
Hector Manuel Figueroa Medina, 43, of Lutz, Florida was charged with carrying a concealed firearm without a permit and trespassing, he was booked into the Orange County Jail.
Orange County Sheriff’s Office law-enforcement dogs are trained to sniff out guns, and Lutz had his tucked into his waistband covered by his shirt.
He was released Thursday after posting a $1,000 bond.
This is the 2nd incident of people attempting to get into the Disney World Parks & Resorts with a loaded handgun. The last incident occurred just last month when a man attempted to bring a loaded gun into the Animal Kingdom in his backpack.
