Overall Grade:7.3/10
Actually examining all of the character dining options the Walt Disney World Resort offers, the results show that there aren’t that many as you’d expect. But one option is Hollywood and Vine. In fact there are two versions, one for the majority of the year, and the other just for the holidays. We’ll be combing the two in this review as the food served at the buffet is basically the same. In this review we’ll go though the overall value, food, service, atmosphere and overall experience. It is worth noting that if it weren’t for the atmosphere, the 7.1/10 grade would be lower.

Value
When we talk about value of a restaurant, we look for the quality of the food for the price. We give Hollywood and Vine a 7/10 for this category. The food is pretty good buffet food, but let’s be honest you’re paying for the characters in this case. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Santa Goofy during the holidays and Disney Junior Characters during the remainder of the year. Guests can also choose to include Fantasmic! into their reservation or Jingle Bell Jingle Bam! during the holidays.
Food
Like we stated above it’s okay food. Nothing to rave about by any means. There are some menu items that do stand out during the lunch and dinner hours above others like the roasted carved meats and some of the pastas. The sweet treat of soft-serve ice cream along with other desserts are pretty good to top of an overall good tasting meal. As for breakfast, it’s basically what every other character breakfast is like, Mickey Waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, etc all of which are good. For all of these reasons, we give the food a 6/10.
Service
Just like any other restaurant in Walt Disney World and Disney Springs, the service was pretty good. The wait for these restaurants are often times extremely long without a reservation. But back to the cast members, they are amazing just like everywhere else on property. Our waitress came around often to check if we were ok, and with 12+ people in our party, our drinks were always full. For all of these reasons we give the service an 8.5/10.
Atmosphere
Now we understand that the feel is supposed to be old Hollywood, and it definitely gives that off. But also, it feels like it needs to be updated as well. Not a major rehab, but a reimagining would be nice. But like we said it does it’s main job making you feel as if you have stepped back in time in old Hollywood, something that Hollywood Studios in general does a good job at. For these reasonings, we give the atmosphere a 7.5/10.
Overall Experience
Overall we would recommend this to anyone that has a family or for those who would like to have a good option for a character dining meal. All of the characters come around in time while you’re seated and seeing the little ones faces light up is what makes this a pretty good option to check out at least once. We personally go back every now and again, but especially love it during the holidays. But to get a glimpse of rare Disney Junior characters is also a plus for sure during the rest of the year.
